Software for eKnitter

Please be aware that eKnitter is currently only compatible with the Brother KH 910 knitting machines and operates exclusively through a Wi-Fi connection. Before using eKnitter, ensure that you have a functional Wi-Fi network in your knitting space.

To use eKnitter, you will need two things:

  1. The eKnitter mainboard.
  2. The Ayab desktop software for eKnitter, which is free and open source.

The AYAB version that works with eKnitter is available in a separate GitHub repository. We decided this because AYAB 0.95.1 will no longer receive updates as the AYAB developers are currently working on a newer version. In the meantime, our GitHub repository offers the eKnitter compatible version of AYAB.

External Power Supply for eKnitter

The external power supply used with the eKnitter can be found in the link below. If you decide to use a different one than the one we have tested, please ensure that it provides 12 V DC and either 5 A or 3 A. Additionally, make sure that the center polarity is positive. In some countries, the center polarity might be negative, so it’s crucial to verify this before connecting the power supply, as incorrect polarity can damage the eKnitter board.
