Before You Buy
eKnitter completely replaces the original Brother electronics.
Your original memory is not required.Your machine must be mechanically functional — especially the needle selection mechanism and carriage movement.
If your machine has previously knitted correctly but the electronics no longer work, it is usually an ideal candidate for eKnitter.
Installation
Installation is straightforward and fully reversible.
eKnitter mounts inside your machine using existing screw points — no drilling or permanent modification required.We recommend using a modern external power supply (not included).
eKnitter can also operate with the original internal power supply if it is still functional.

DesignaKnit Compatibility
eKnitter works on its own — you can start knitting right away with the built-in WebApp.
If you already use DesignaKnit 9 (version 9.14.01 or later), eKnitter connects directly.
If you’re just getting started and later want to level up to professional knitwear design software, eKnitter is already prepared.
You can add DesignaKnit at any time — no special cables, adapters, or hardware changes are needed. You only need to purchase the DesignaKnit software.DesignaKnit is a separate software product and is not included with eKnitter.
When connected, DesignaKnit enables fully interactive knitting and automatically recognizes when you start knitting, the direction of your carriage, and the current row.

Yes. Both single and double bed techniques are supported.What about DesignaKnit?
We’re working with DAK. Full compatibility is planned in a future update. For now, you can knit with our Windows app and also use designs from Stitch Fiddle or KnittingChart.Does it keep working if my Wi-Fi or laptop disconnects?
Yes. Your pattern is stored on the eKnitter board, so knitting continues without interruption.Is this just a DIY hack?

Our new WebApp will be included for everyone in the next release, so you’ll also be able to use eKnitter from Mac, tablet, or phone.
