Community Spotlight: Reversible DBJ with eKnitter & DAK

Katie from the Machine Knitting Community recently shared this with me — and I thought it absolutely deserves a place here.

“This is my first attempt at reversible DBJ and my second time using DAK, 1000 rows in total.

Using my ERKA80 (Brother 910) with eKnitter installed.

I entered the pattern into Stitch Designer then knitted with interactive knitting, 2 colour jacquard. I manually changed the colour every two rows. The pattern is 37 stitches and 500 rows, so knitted in DBJ it’s 1000 rows.

I used Uppingham Yarns lambswool 2/17nm, one strand of each – black and turquoise. For the DBJ every row I had to manually select on the ribber bed the inverse of the needles selected on the main bed. All the part buttons/levers are in, so it is only knitting the needles that are selected on each bed. I used tension 5.

The pattern is called Wading Birds Scarf by Yarnquarium on Etsy. There are 22 different species of bird.”

Katie, you are amazing.
Thank you for sharing your process so openly, for inspiring others, and for allowing me to share your project here with fellow knitters.
