FREE Machine Knit-along (KAL)

What’s Special About Our Knit-Along? This knit-along is free and built on everyone helping each other. It’s more than knitting; it’s about making friends and supporting one another.

How It Works:

  • Start Dates: Start date will be announced. Put you on the list so you dont miss it.
  • After Start: Newcomer can start weekly. The initial group requires at least five participants. Subsequent weeks need at least three new participants each week. WE ASK You to TEAM-UP!
  • Project: You’ll make a long-sleeve jumper (knitted from the side and with a round yoke) with an electronic knitting machine.
  • Sign Up: Register on our website so you dont miss the starting date
  • Joining In: Anyone can join any week, and it’s always free. We ask everyone to help each other to keep it fun and free.
  • Steps: Successfully finishing each milestone grants you access to the next step and unlocks a related discussion board. This structured approach keeps you connected with others who are at the same milestone or further along in the knitting project.

Rules for Smooth Knitting:

  • Equipment Needed: You need an electronic knitting machine that supports wide needle bed patterns, such as a 200-needle-wide pattern.
  • Stay Active: With each Milestone you will be asked to share a minimm information about your project. This will help other who come later.
  • Help Others: Be kind and help your fellow knitters.

Event Timing and Goals:

Ending Goals: At the end, we’ll have a virtual show to display our jumpers and talk about what to do next. We aim to make knitting fun and connect like-minded people

Duration: This goes on until the end of the year. It’s about enjoying the process and supporting each other.

Q1: How many participants are needed to start the knit-along?

We need at least 5 participants to officially begin our knit-along. This initial group helps to establish a community base from which the event can grow.

Q2: What happens if there are fewer than three participants ready to enter the next level in a given week?:

If fewer than three participants are ready to advance in a given week, those who are ready must wait until the following week. We require a minimum of three participants to ensure there’s enough interaction and assistance within the group.

Q3: Is it necessary to keep pace with the group I initially started with?

A3: No, you don’t have to stay with your initial group. People progress at different speeds, and that’s perfectly fine. The knit-along is designed to accommodate varying paces, and we encourage everyone to support each other, regardless of speed.

Q4: What are the requirements for advancing beyond the first entry level?

A4: After the first entry level, which requires a minimum of 5 participants to start, you only need to share your progress to move on to subsequent levels. There is no minimum participant requirement for these later stages.

Q5: How does posting updates help the knit-along?

A5: Posting your updates is crucial as it provides valuable insights and inspiration to others who may be at different stages of the knit-along. Your progress can help guide and motivate newcomers or those who may be struggling

Q6: Can I join the knit-along after it has started?

A6: Absolutely! New participants can join weeky, although they must begin at the first entry level and wait for enough participants to proceed together.
