The person who sold me my machine told me that he had plugged it in and that it had made a noise, a burning smell had come out, and then he turned it off, unplugged it, and did no more testing. (He sold it for spare parts)
I have not tried plugging it in and bought an external power supply, but I am not sure if that way I will no longer need to use the original cable of the machine or replace the fuses or capacitors. If so, should I leave the machine "on" (I), and it will turn on and off by plugging and unplugging the new external power supply?
Thank you!
Hello, if the original power supply is faulty, you can power the machine with an external cable which you connect with eKnitter. You do not need to turn on the machine for this. However, it is important to have the right external power supply with 12V and center with positive polarity; please check here https://eknitter.com/features/installation-of-eknitter. Additionally, make sure you moved the jumper to JP1 and connect the S1 connector as well. Hope this answers your question.
